The First in a Series
A Connecticut Colony Novel
Born in Connecticut, my early fascination with the environment set the stage for a career devoted to education and storytelling. As a science teacher in my hometown, I collected narratives that breathed life into the lessons I shared with my students. This foundational passion ignited a path that led me to earn a PhD, wherein I had the privilege of designing innovative educational programs.
Throughout my academic journey, I taught undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral courses, serving in roles as diverse as professor, dean, and consultant to universities. Central to my mission was the cultivation of meaningful relationships, inspiring future educators to ignite students’ curiosity and instill a profound respect for the natural world.
These rich experiences and insights, combined with years of dedicated research, culminated in the creation of Discord and Light: A Connecticut Colony Novel. This work reflects my commitment to education and storytelling, intertwining my personal narrative with the broader themes of resilience and connection.
Having faced the trials of a rare autoimmune condition, Seronegative Autoimmune Encephalitis, and the challenges posed by Endometrial Cancer, I continue to thrive alongside my sons, Jeremiah and Geoffrey, their families, and my loyal Great Pyrenees companions, Alfred and Sia. My journey is a testament to the strength found in the bonds we nurture and the stories we share.
